Employment protection regulation about exposure to artificial optical radiation - OStrV
By implementing the directive 2006/25/EG the OStrV (Employment protection regulation) was published at 19. July 2010 in BGBl.1 No.38 dated 26.07.2010 S960.
The regulation is to protect the employees regarding the exposure of workers to the risks arising from artificial optical radiation mainly chronic adverse effects on the eyes and skin.
By others, against previous rules, a endangerment analysis is as good as prescribed.
In the screen printing industry, this regulation having an effect on the use of equipment and machinery which emit UV-radiation, like exposure light sources, UV-Dryer, but also Laser emitting systems (like Computer-to-Screen-plants) and may also effect, under certain circumstances, LED based equipment.
